Einar, Zweeds filoloog, *15.6.1880 Uppsala, ♱10.6.1955 Stockholm. Löfsted studeerde te Uppsala filosofie en linguïstiek.
In 1915 werd hij hoogleraar te Lund. Löfsted was een van de grootste kenners van het Laaten Vulgairlatijn. Werken: Philologischer Kommentar zur Peregrinatio Aetheriae (1911; 2e dr. 1956), Arnobiana (1917), Zur Sprache Tertullians (1920), Syntactica (2dln. 192833; 2e dr. 1942—46), Vermischte Studiën zur lat. Sprachkunde und Syntax (1936), Coniectanea (1950), Roman literary portraits (1958; postuum), Late Latin (1959; postuum).
