engelsch arts, vooral bekend door zijn onderzoekingen van het strottenhoofd, geb. 7 Juli 1837 te Leytonstone (Essex), zette zich in 1862 te Londen neer als geneesheer, en was hier weldra de voornaamste specialiteit voor hals- en Meiziekten. In 1863 richtte hij een hospitaal voor keelziekte op.
Hij overl. 3 Febr. 1892 te Londen.
