Engelsch philanthropiste, zuster des vorigen, geb. 3 April 1807 te Bristol, overl. aldaar 14 Juni 1877, schreef: Morning and evening meditations for every day in the month (1842), Reformatory schools for children (1851), Juvenile delinquents, their condition and treatment (1853), The claims of ragged schools to pecuniary aid from the annual parlamentary grants for educational purposes (1859), Owr convicts (1864). Herhaaldelijk nam zij deel aan de jaarvergaderingen der „British Association for the promotion ol social Science”.
Van 1866—67 ondernam zij voor philanthropische doeleinden een reis naar Indië, en schreef na deze reis: Suggestions on prison discipline and female education in India (1867) en Six months in India (2 dln., 1868).
