Raoul, Amerikaans filmregisseur, *11.3.1892 New York. Walsh werd in 1912 assistent van D.W.Griffith.
Vanaf 1915 regisseerde hij een groot aantal films van zeer verschillend genre, maar hij oogstte het meeste succes met westerns en avonturenen oorlogsfilms. Films: The thief of Bagdad (1924), The big trail (1930), The bowery (1933), Objective Burma (1945), The naked and the dead (1958) en A distant trumpet (1964).
