Roger Huntingdon, Amerikaans componist, *28.12.1896 Brooklyn. Sessions studeerde muziek aan de Harvard University, aan de Yale School of Music bij H.Parker, te New York bij E.Bloch en aan het Institute of Music te Cleveland.
Van 1926— 33 verbleef hij meestentijds te Berlijn en Florence. Van 1928-31 organiseerde hij te New York samen met A.Copland concerten van eigentijdse muziek. Na 1933 doceerde hij aan de universiteiten van New York en Princeton. Van 1944-52 was hij hoogleraar aan de universiteit van Californië, daarna te Princeton (tot 1965). Sindsdien doceert hij aan de Juillard School of Music te New York. Van ca. 1927—35 schreef hij werken in een classicistische stijl, sinds 1953 past hij ook de twaalftoontechniek toe.

Idyll of Theocritus (1954), pianoconcert (1956), Psalm 140 (1963), Rhapsody (1970), concert voor viool, violoncello en orkest (1971), 8 symfonieën; koorwerken: Turn, o libertad (1943), When lilacs last in the dooryard bloom’d (1967-70); kamer-, pianoen orgelmuziek.
