Amerikaanse filmproducent, *13.9. 1880 San Francisco, ♱13.1.1958 Hollywood. Lasky was cornettist en vaudeville-impresario, voordat hij in 1913 met Samuel Goldwyn en Cecil B.deMille de filmproduktiemaatschappij Jesse Lasky Feature Play Company vormde.
In 1916 kwam via een fusie Famous Players-Lasky Corporation, het latere Paramount tot stand. Toen deze maatschappij in 1932 failliet ging, werd Lasky onafhankelijk producent. In die functie werkte hij voor alle grote maatschappijen. Filmprodukties: Sergeant York (1941), The adventures of Mark Twain (1944), Rhapsody in blue (1945). Publikatie: I blow my own horn (1957).
