Francis Ysidro, Engels econoom, *8 februari 1845 te Edgeworthstown, ♱13 februari 1926 te Oxford. Edgeworth was hoogleraar te Londen (1888) en te Oxford (1891).
Door de toepassing van de wiskunde op economische vraagstukken geldt hij als pionier op het gebied der wiskundige economie. De ontwikkeling der indifferentiecurven, welke reeds bij de School van Lausanne een aanvang nam, was een voortbouwen op door Edgeworth verrichte arbeid. In 1891 richtte hij The Economic Journal op als orgaan van de Royal Economic Society, waarin een groot aantal artikelen en essays van zijn hand verscheen.
