Eigenlijk: Issur Danielovitch Demsky, Amerikaans toneelen filmacteur, *9.12.1916 Amsterdam (New York). Na een toneelcarrière op Broadway (New York) debuteerde Douglas bij de film als tegenspeler van R.Hayworth in The strange love of Martha Ivers (1964; Lewis Milestone).
Hij creëerde vooral de rol van de wat nerveuze, kwetsbare, maar meedogenloze vechter. Films: Champion (1948; M.Robson), The big carnival (1950; B.
