Engels toneelschrijver, *1584(?), ♱6.3.1616 Londen. Na zijn studie rechten te Oxford en in Inner Temple (Londen) werkte hij een vijftal jaren samen met John Fletcher, waarbij Beaumont de leidinggevende figuur was.
In de treurspelen handhaafden zij de beste tradities van Shakespeare, in hun blijspelen die van Ben Jonson.Werken: The woman hater (1607), The knight of the burning pestle (1609), The scornful lady, The masque of the Inner Temple and Gray’s Inn (1613), Philaster (1610), The maid’s tragedy (1611), Cupid’s revenge (1612).
