Council houses in 's-Graveland

betekenis & definitie

The form. Town Hall Noordereinde 123 is a neoclassical cross-house from 1868 with a landing staircase, blocked corner pillars and a fronton over the full width of the front façade. In the roof rider hangs a clock (1760) by Pieter Seest. Also from 1868 is the adjacent forem. mayor's residence Noordereinde 121. The current town hall has been located in Huize Westerveia (Noordereinde 36) since 1946, a plastered neoclassical country house from 1837, which was then called 'Villa Nova' (expanded 1877). The coach house dates from 1846. The accompanying handball house (Noordereinde 34) is a two-aisled, white-plastered building from 1874 with reed-sloping side walls.
