The large villa in Westerland
'Waterkeer' (Westerlanderweg 17) with a thatched roof and expressionist elements was built around 1927, presumably after a design by L. Zwiers for director-chief executive J.A. Ringers of the Society for the Execution of the Zuiderzee Works (M.U.Z.). In 1930 his successor J. Lely - the eldest son of engineer C. Lely - came to live here.
