Stephanos Kanelos
Nieuw-Grieksch dichter, geleerde en staatsman van nationalistisch-liberale richting. * 1792 te Konstantinopel, ✝ 1823 op Creta. Van K. leeft vooral de vaderlandsche vrijheidslyriek voort: Thurios (= de dappere); Nouthesia (= waarschuwing).
