Sint Maarten (municipality of Harenkarspel)
Village, originated in the 13th century at the then Westfriese Zeedijk. From 1478 to the abolition of the municipality in 1990, Sint Maarten, Eenigenburg and Valkkoog formed one jurisdiction: the Valkkogerkogge. At the site of a church from 1462 (destroyed 1799) a new church was built in 1875 (demolished 1960).
