Polder mills in Spanbroek
The De Kaag polder was flooded by De Kaagmolen (near Nieuweweg 2) from 1654; the adjacent auxiliary steam pumping station with centrifugal pump is from 1879. The polder mill Zomerdijk 18, built in 1873, bombed the polder Westerveer. Both are cane-covered octagonal innercups on a wood-covered base.
