constantinopolitanus
constantinopolitánus (-a, -um), - afkomstig van Constantinopel of via die plaats ingevoerd. Het woord Constantinopel is verbasterd uit Gr. Konstantīnoupŏlis, d.i. stad van Constantijn (den Grooten; 274-337). Deze verhief de stad, voordien Byzantĭum genoemd, tot hoofdplaats van het Romeinsche rijk in plaats van Rome.
