betekenis & definitie

Village, originated in the 11th century as one of the four elongated villages on the Langedijk. In the surrounding Geestmerambacht polder, cabbage was cultivated on the many small islands. After the land consolidation (1965-'74), the northern part of Zuid-Scharwoude was expanded on both sides of the old ribbon development.
