Lintdorp, originated in the polder Wieringerwaard (which was also called Nieuwe-Zijpe) in 1610-'12. The buildings concentrated along the (North and South) Zijperweg. The Molenweg, which is perpendicular to this, led to the denomination made in 1856 in the Noorddijk towards Anna Paulownapolder. At the end of the 19th century the village had some prosperity and it was called 'the Peacock City'. The Baptist. church (1654) was demolished in 1924. After the Second World War in Wieringerwaard on the north side expanded.
