betekenis & definitie

Village, originated in the 12th century near a dam in the Kromme Leek and first mentioned in 1288. It is named after the missionary St. Werenfridus. The village development developed along the Dorpsstraat and in the 19th century at right angles to the Simon Koopmanstraat. After the Second World War the village was extended on the northeast side (Kagerban).
