(Stationsplein 2) was built in 1908 as the head station of the railway to Haarlem and replaced a wooden station building from 1880. The rationalistic design is probably from D.A.N. Margadant. The station consists of a combination of building volumes with different heights and ridge directions, and is provided with texts and (bricorna) tile mosaics in art nouveau forms. Because the station is built against a dune slope, it is higher than the tracks and has more than one street on the rail side. A wide staircase forms the connection between the station hall and the platforms. On the south side is a station (water) tower with clockwork.
