The R.K. St. Nicholas Church in Muiden

betekenis & definitie

(Herengracht 83) is a one-pivoted cross church with a roof rider at the celebration and a white plastered neoclassical front with doric columns and a wooden bell tower. After construction in 1822 as a hall church, possibly after design by T.F. Suys, followed in 1894 an extension with transept and straight closed choir in neo-Roman style.

The interior contains a painting in the choir closure and a neo-Gothic high altar. The company Vermeulen & amp; amp; Ypma built organ (1927) has pipework from the predecessor (1850, M. Maarschalkerweerd). The presbytery (Herengracht 82) is a block-shaped mansion with plastered corner pillars, built in 1870 in eclectic forms.
