The R. H. H. H. Nicolaas and Antonius church in Monnickendam

betekenis & definitie

(Noordeinde 19) [5] is a basilica cross church with three-sided closed choir and a tower of three sections with constricted striker. This neo-Gothic church arose in 1898-1900 according to plans by J.H. Tonnaer (restored 1987). The church has stone vaults and there are paintings in the choir. A mosaic recalls the salvation of the in-house workers who were employed in Germany in 1940-45 (1952, A. Molkenboer).
