The previous Herv church in Lambertschaag

betekenis & definitie

(Noordeinde 28), originally dedicated to St. Lambertus and also called the Green Church, is a one-aisled church with five-sided closed choir and at the west facade a wooden roof rider. A first church is mentioned in 1395, but the current ship dates from around 1500.

The construction of the late Gothic choir followed in the middle of the 16th century. In the roundabout placed around 1740, a clock (1495) was cast by Geert van Wou. The timepiece dates from about 1480 (restored 1906). This church, restored in 1978-'82, has a wooden barrel vault with draw beams on enclosures. These drawings are probably, like the cast-iron windows, coming from a renovation around 1860. The inventory includes a pulpit (1633) and a by L. van Dam & amp; amp; Zn. built organ (1866). On the cemetery is a gravestone for C. Zijp († 1892).
