(Kloosterstraat 29) consists of four wings around a large courtyard. From the Mariaconvent built around 1440 on the spot, the south wing (Kloosterstraat), the west wing (Jan Massenstraat) and the chapel (Comenius chapel) remain. After the Reformation in 1579 the monastery was largely transformed into an orphanage, other parts were used as a school. From 1809 to 1986 the complex served as a barracks. Major renovations took place in 1847-'48 and further in 1935-'39, when the north wing was renewed and the east wing was built. During a restoration in 1986-'92, these parts and the north-western corner building were rebuilt.
