The Herv church in Santpoort

betekenis & definitie

(Burg Enschedélaan 67), a traditionalist hall church with built-in tower, was built in 1917 according to a design by J. Mulder and J.A. van Asdonk to replace a burnt-down church from 1844. Against the north facade is an originally 17th-century border post, the inscription CM on the back of which refers to Cornelis Malefijt (owner blekerij Zorgvrij). This hard stone pole was reused in the 18th century by the Hondsbossche and Duinen Water Board, and was named HBM (Honds Bossche Maat).
