The Herv church in 's-Graveland

betekenis & definitie

(Noorderinde 14), a sober classicistic church in the form of a Greek cross, came into being in 1657-'58 to design by Daniël Stalpaert. In the roof rider hangs a clock (1655) cast by François and Pieter Hemony. The entrance portal at the front is equipped with blind niches and a pediment. The façades have round arch windows and corner pillars pivoting on the underside. The church contains a by J. and J.H.H. Bätz built organ (1824). The presbytery (Noorderinde 12) is a two-aisled two-layer cross house dating from around 1775.
