The former council house in Ransdorp

betekenis & definitie

(Dorpsweg 59) was built in 1652 after a classicist design by Pieter Pietersz van Saendam as a transverse building with a basement and a bell-floor articulated by Doric pilasters. There is a plaque with swan above the entrance. The double landing stairs and the current entrance are probably from a renovation in 1734. The building was restored in 1923-'24 (N.H.W. Scholte).
