betekenis & definitie

(Vinkenstraat 34) is a classicist church that was established in 1699-1700; the wide front and rear façades have a pilaster aspect and a higher middle section with fronton.

The interior is covered by intersecting wooden barrel vaults and has flat covered corner sections. The early-18th century inventory includes a richly cut pulpit and doophek from 1704, and further pews, a gentlemen's bench and two draft portals. Performed in Louis XIV style are the balustrade of the organ balcony and the organ cabinet built by Christiaan Müller (1737, interior M. Maarschalkerweerd (1900)). Furthermore, the church has an out

1780 dating epitaph for Jan Tuyzingh († 1773). In the church council chamber there is a door piece with allegorical representation of Faith, Hope and Love and a stained glass made by Catharina Oostfries (1720, restored 1895).
