The Agathe Park in Krommenie

betekenis & definitie

(Parklaan approx.) Was constructed in 1929-31 as a work-provision project and financed by sailcloth manufacturer P.H. Candle Sijpesteijn and cigar manufacturer B.J. Perch. The park is named after Mrs Agathe Kaars Sijpesteijn-Crok. In this park with winding paths and large water features there are several aviaries and a large music tent (a bühnemodel, circa 1930). The concrete memorial bank (1952) recalls the 50th anniversary of conductor G. Schaar of music association 'Onderling Genoegen'.
