In 1865, the design of L.J. Immink the form. Municipal Higher Burger School (Westzijde 92), a plastered wide building with central pavilion and flanking lower wings (front modified).
Traditional forms show the form. school building Sijbrandsteeg 3 (1920), consisting of two parallel wings and a narrower transverse intermediate structure. A little younger is the public lower Herman Gorterschool (Doniastraat 18, circa 1925, enlarged after 1945). Examples of school buildings that were established around 1930 are the two-tiered middle-walk school Katerstraat 7, the school building Gerhardstraat 10 and the Chr. primary school Jonge Arnoldusstraat 37.
