betekenis & definitie

Dating back to around 1914, the Land en Boschzicht country house (Leeuwenlaan 26-40) dates back to pseudo-made work. A striking outbuilding is the chapel, also designed with pseudo-work. There are two tea rooms on the grounds, one from the late 18th century. The latter, neoclassical building on a boathouse, is equipped with pilasters and a lead domed roof. From the Sperwershof country estate (Noordereinde 50-52) the house was rebuilt as a villa around 1930.

The park building underwent a renovation in 1888 to plans by H. Copijn. From the old outside remains the 18th-century garden wall on the north side of the vegetable garden. Younger are the entrance gate (circa 1890), the forem. coachman's house (Ankeveensepad 5, circa 1880) and the forem. gardener's house (Ankeveensepad 6, circa 1920). At the Buitenplaats Schoonoord (Zuidereinde 11) the old house (converted 1773) was replaced in 1930 by the current villa in an expressionist country style with high thatched roofs and half-timbered gable tops. J. van Erven Dorens made the design for G. Leonhardt. The park building consists of three parts: around the house a 'home' with utility gardens, lawn and borders (early 20th century, LW Copijn), then an early landscaping park with pond (late 18th century) and finally a park forest with remnants of the late-18th century construction, including a hill. In the park there is a dovecote (1930), a studio, a barn and an attached garden wall. Two arbours are both built in circa 1925, 'De Rose Wees' in neoclassical style inspired by Italian examples and the second with neoclassical details.
