betekenis & definitie

From the stiff factory 'De Bijenkorf' (Lagedijk 38), founded in 1867 by M.K. Honig as a maize starch and starch factory, a high building from 1915 dominates with upwardly more elaborate sections with series of small windows.

From the form. steam-oil factory 'De Reus' (Zuideinde 42-44) have retained some former warehouses, such as the wooden roofed warehouse 'Suez' (circa 1895), the 'De Reus' (circa 1890) wooden warehouse converted in 1919 and behind it the warehouse 'De Zemel' (1907). Built around 1910 is the three-storey brick warehouse 'David' (Zuideinde 48-48a).
