Oostermeer in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel

betekenis & definitie

(Amsteldijk-Noord 37, municipality of Amstelveen), located northwest of Ouderkerk, is a country house in Louis XIV style, built in 1728 for Willem Bus (named after his mother Willem Spruyt). This two-storey building with basement has a sandstone pronkrisalite and a backward construction with garden rooms.

The two L-shaped building houses date from the same time, as does the rich entrance gate with limestone posts in Louis XIV style. The three children's figures (1734, Jan van Logteren) and the 'Roof of Proserpina' (1711, J.C. de Cock) originated from a vanished country estate in Heemstede. Nicolaas Freher, owner from 1757, had the garden dome built. In 1901 it came outside to A.C.M. van Etten, who had the garden landscaping remodeled by L. A. Springer and had a house built (Amsteldijk-Noord 39; 1922, J.W. Hanrath).
