Farms in Stompetoren

betekenis & definitie

In the immediate vicinity of Stompetoren and in the northern part of the Schermerpolder are several interesting farmhouses. Originally from the 17th century, but modified in the 19th century, the bell-shaped farmhouse De Twaalf Apostelen (Noordervaart 17) is a converted cowshed. The stepped gable at the front is decorated with natural stones, cover frames and date stones (1641). The Bosch farmhouse (Molenweg 1), restored in 18th century form, has a built-out cowshed and in front a wide bell-shaped wooden façade with fronton crowning. There is a wooden house on the yard. The Noordschermerdijk 4 homestead has an eighteenth-century bell-gable party with natural stone corner volutes.

Built around 1850 are the farm Dijkzicht (Slingerdijk 2) with brick bell façade, the (later) plastered Louise Hoeve (Lange Molenweg 9, 1844) with spout facade and the farm 't Hoekske (Noordschermerdijk 6) with developed cowshed. The Lange Molenweg 28 (1871) farm has a brick chimney and a protruding higher middle section with richly cut wind springs. Other farms from the second half of the 19th century are, for example, the Paulina Hoeve (Korte Molenweg 2, 1877), the farm Ursemmerweg 4 (circa 1880), the partly plastered farm De Hulst (Noordschermerdijk 5) and the farm Lange Molenweg 2 (1890 ).

The original 18th-century colliery Korte Molenweg 16 got around 1890 a new façade with cornice and pilasters. Built at the end of the 19th century are the farmhouse farms Emerantiahoeve (Noordervaart 188; 1875), with plastered living area with a dormer window with balcony, Noordervaart 52 (1872) with developed cowshed, De Vriendschap (Noordervaart 51; 1881) with wooden shed and Moederswens (Noordervaart) 119); the last three have a higher risen middle ressault. Early 20th-century bell-and-roll farms are Lange Molenweg 12 (1901), with blocked corner pilasters and a decorative wooden top gable, and De Korenschoof (Noordervaart 43; 1904) with dormer. The Noordervaart 128 farm, for example, is deviant in its form, where the plastered eclectic house (1874) is connected to a truncated bell-jar by means of an intermediary. Also different are the Noordervaart 93 farm with a cross house (circa 1890) and a shed, and the Lange Molenweg 16 farm with a detached central aisle (1891) and a younger barn (1933). A separate house from 1909 with decorative masonry and a turret, named 'Domus cum Turri', stands in front of the barn of the Noordervaart 111 farm. Other notable 20th-century farmhouses are the longhouse farm Boomsvrucht (Noordervaart 194-196) dating from 1909, with adjacent summer house, the Molenzicht farm (Rustenburgerweg 10), with detached house (circa 1915) and a large shed with cowshed (circa 1935), and the traditionalistic farmhouse Ursummerweg 3 (circa 1920) with shutters and thatched roof.
