Farmhouses in Hoogwoud

betekenis & definitie

The Willemshoeve (Koningspade 17) is an early 17th-century farmhouse with an extended short front end with a wooden façade and rich Manneristic carving above the entrance. The 17th-century farmhouse Gouwe 48 has a plaque with the image of a ship (1671). The wooden neck facade belongs to a renovation around 1800.

There is a 17th-century tiled chimney in the interior. Built in 1850, the Koningspade 22 colderfarm has a wooden gable above a bay window. Monumental is the Koningspade 31 (now museum farm), dating from 1857, with wooden gable. The nineteenth-century plastered chapel in the courtyard reminds of the King II (1256) murdered by Hoogwoud by the ice and then murdered by the Western Frisians.
