The old town hall Kerkbuurt 3 was built in 1684 as a house with a storage place for fire spraying in the basement and a council chamber on the ground floor, accessible via an outside staircase with platform. The sober building was demolished around 1960 and under the leadership of Y. Kok drastically restored to a possible 17th-century situation. As a town hall since 1917 the mansion Middelweg 28 has been built in rich neo-Renaissance style (circa 1890, extended 1976).
