Cemeteries in Hoorn

betekenis & definitie

The Old Algae built around 1830. cemetery (Keern ong.) in 1902 got a barn in half-timbered to plans by J. van Reijendam (restored 1994-'95).

The grave for the Reek family has an interesting stele in red sandstone (circa 1910); sculpted flowers adorn the headstone of S. Reek († 1915). The R.K. cemetery (Drieboomlaan approx.), founded in 1871, has a Neo-Gothic chapel (1871) covered with Oegstgeester pans, designed by A. C. Bleijs. On the New Alg. Cemetery (Berkhouterweg approx.) Is located on a separate part of the predominantly 19th-century tombstones of the Isr from 1778. cemetery, which were transferred here in 1968.
