Engels dichter en prozaschrijver (± 1476 - Croydon Juni 1552), studeerde te Oxford en werd vervolgens kapelaan aan het college te St Mary Ottery in Devon. In 1509 vervaardigde hij naar Jacob Locher’s Latijnse bewerking van Sebastian Brant’s Narrenschiffzijn Shyp of Folys of the Worlde, dat zeer populair werd.
