The foremost Jan Nieuwenhuizen Nutsbewaarschool in Monnickendam
(Noordeinde 13) [15] is a deep neo-Renaissance style building with carved cartouches in the arch fillings. Built in 1886 by the 'Vereniging Hulpbetoon' it served as a storage school until 1962. Since 1999 it has been a residence.
